In the year 1492, three mighty ships braved the vast unknown, carrying Christopher Columbus and his men across the Atlantic in search of new horizons. Among them, the Santa Maria, the grandest of the fleet, stood as a symbol of adventure, courage, and discovery. It was on this legendary voyage, through the crystal-blue waters of the Caribbean, that a remarkable spirit was born the finest rum, crafted from the rich sugarcane fields of the islands.

Santa Maria’s journey was not destined to last forever.
After over two months sailing the Caribbean, she met her fate on Christmas Eve of 1492, wrecking off the coast of Hispaniola near Cap-Haïtien. Though the ship was lost, her legacy endured—her timber repurposed to build Fort La Navidad, the first European settlement in the New World, a testament to resilience and renewal.
